HAY DJ is a boutique, mobile DJ company made up of Heather A. Yenawine and Randell Bolton. We provide a more customized and hip approach to wedding and event djing, by avoiding the cliches and taking a fresh approach to cocktail and dinner music, with dance floors characterized by fun and dynamic dance music from all the decades. Ultimately, we feel like the music should reflect the couple, as well as being a fantastic time for your friends and family!
We are very detail oriented and believe planning and executing a timeline is as important to our job as the music we provide. Through clear & concise announcements and efficient time management, HAY DJ will lead you and your guests through each part of the celebration- from ceremony to cocktails to dinner to special events and finally dancing- with what looks like effortless ease.
Not surprisingly, we are both avid music fans personally! We listen to and work with a huge range of music and stay up-to-date through our clients preferences, personal mixing, Spotify deep dives, reading our fave music magazines & sites, and of course, seeing a ton of live music.
When we provide ceremony sound, we have an additional team member from Yancey Entertainment Service join us. We have maintained a successful partnership with Yancey Entertainment Service (est. 1977) since 2006. Founder & DJ Marshall Yancey mentored HAY DJ professionally and is a father-figure to Heather personally. Our partnership includes musical support, logistical support and subcontracted services, such as ceremony systems, sound reinforcement and lighting services. Having a trusted business ally is incredibly valuable in the wedding & event industry, where accountability is paramount.
As a founding member of the Fair Event Vendors Alliance (FEVA), HAY DJ believes deeply in equality and social justice, both on a personal and professional level. We are dedicated to inclusion and fair business practices. We support all loving couples and would love to share in your celebration!
